Tyronn Lue's C2C held its first Summer Reading & Enrichment Program this July, giving first-grade students from Mexico Public Schools a safe, fun learning environment to build reading skills and prevent summer learning loss. Thirteen students attended twelve days of lessons, writing, and outdoor activity led by certified teachers, with bus transportation from the school district and daily breakfast and snacks. The program closed with a celebration for students and families: Reading Achievement Certificates, lunch provided by C2C, and rewards including swimming passes from the City of Mexico Parks and Recreation Department, a McDonald's ice cream coupon, rolled ice cream from C&E's Snowcones and Party Rentals, and a school-supply goodie bag.
